All I can say is that I am glad my sling-backs are tightly secured as I am doing a lot of running and I have found some kicking is necessary when dealing with some colleagues and it would bother me to loose a shoe was a response i gave to a someone when he asked how i was getting on in my new job.
He obviously thought i was being witty, because when i saw him the next time he asked if my sling-backs were tightly secured. I informed him that i had my 3 inch peep-toes that tie around the ankle on. He asked if they were sturdy enough for kicking. I said i wouldn't use these ones for kicking, the 3 inch heels makes them more useful stabbing.
He laughed. I didn't . arrrrgh the frustations of work.
